This feature allows radiologists to use Microsoft Word to write reports with full formatting control. It replaces the current editor with a Word-based workflow where reports can be downloaded with pre-filled data, edited in Word, and automatically synced back into the system.
⚠️ Important: This feature currently works only on Windows systems with Microsoft Word installed.
Support for Mac will be added in a future release.
How to Enable and Set Up
1.
Create a Word-Based Template
Go to Templates > Add New Template.
Set the template type to Word.
Upload a .docx file with dynamic variables like {patient_name}, {test_name}, etc.
These variables will be auto-filled when the file is downloaded for a specific report.
2. Assign the Template
Link the template to the relevant radiology test in report settings.
?️ Local Interfacing Application Setup (Windows Only)
To enable syncing of Word files back to the system, a local interfacing application must be installed on the user’s machine. Without this, Word-based reporting will not work.

Edit the content directly in Microsoft Word.
Click Save — the system will automatically detect the changes and sync the file.
The synced report will be converted into a PDF and shown for preview.
