Feature Overview
Auto Rerun allows labs to set predefined rules to automatically rerun test samples when results exceed specific thresholds. This helps reduce manual intervention, improve reporting accuracy, and ensure critical results are verified efficiently.
How It Works
- Configuration
- Navigate to Profile & Report Management and select the relevant test.
- Enable Auto Rerun as the rerun type.
- Set rerun conditions based on:
- Out of Normal Range
- Critical Range
- Custom Range
- Automated Rerun Process
- If a test result meets the rerun condition, the system automatically moves the sample to the Device Waiting List.
- The machine reprocesses the sample, and the updated result is available for verification.
- Users must review and finalize the rerun values before completing the report.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
1️⃣ Auto Rerun didn’t trigger for a sample
✔ Check if Auto Rerun is enabled for the test in Profile & Report Management.
✔ Verify if the result met the rerun condition (check defined thresholds).
✔ Confirm if the sample was rerun manually before (Auto Rerun triggers only once per sample).
2️⃣ Sample is stuck in the Device Waiting List
✔ Ensure the interfaced machine is connected and processing samples.
✔ If the rerun is not triggered, manually move the sample back to the queue.
3️⃣ Can Auto Rerun trigger multiple times for the same sample?
No, Auto Rerun triggers only once per sample. For multiple reruns, use Manual Rerun alongside Auto Rerun.
Internal Notes
- If a client reports an issue with Auto Rerun, first check their test configurations and rerun conditions.
- Ensure that the LIS interfacing is active and processing rerun requests correctly.
- If needed, guide the client on using Manual Rerun for additional reruns.
